Walking Football in Hastings
Watch our first post-lockdown training session!
If you are reading this then you are probably interested in having a game of walking football!
Then you are among friends! Like us, you probably stopped playing years ago and took to the couch wishing you could play again. Well, now you can. If you are more than 50 years of age, and not completely decrepit, you can join the lads at Hastings 1066 Walking Football – a club dedicated to fun, fitness and football.
The game is largely the same – only we walk rather than run – and the skill levels range from former internationals to Sunday pub teams. Whether you were a tough defender, a midfield engine, a gifted winger or a talented striker or keeper you’ll be welcome to join us.
This a non-contact sport so you shouldn’t fear any injury inflicted by another player and if you have some ball skills you’ll soon find out that playing footie is like riding a bike – you never forget!
Our club is affiliated to the Walking Football Association (WFA), backed by Active Hastings and we play two or three times a week, including a short warm-up, and when possible play in tournaments with other Sussex towns. The cameraderie is good, the games are exhilarating and if you missed playing as much as we did, you’ll be hooked in no time.
All you need is a pair of suitable trainers and the confidence to make that initial approach. You can come and watch us play for a while or join in straight away and you’ll be made welcome. Fill in the contact details for more information and we will be in touch.
